It started with a thought

My almost 5 year stint with the Aussie company fueled my nagging need to leave the country. I've asked a girl friend about the idea of applying for a regional position within the company. Surely, there was no harm in trying however, there are certain criteria that had to be met before I could even apply. Some postings require permanent residency. Plus the branch would only seek out candidates if they couldn't find a talent in their local market.

It was 2003 and I was actively looking for a job overseas. There was no particular country in mind at that time. Although, it would be a good start to check out vacancies in Asia first.

From thereon, I was unstoppable. My resume was everywhere. I signed up for every online job data bank. Apart from Jobstreet and JobsDB, I signed up for Monster, Workabroad, Seek and a multitude of other recruiting firms online.
