There is no such thing as extemporaneous acquisition. Perfection is not gained any more than heaven at a single bound. We build the ladder by which we rise. - Daniel Webster
I'm still here.
Of late, I've been thinking about what to do next. As I've mentioned before, I have forfeited the re-assessment discount on the fee because of some plans that has gone kaput. I'm not going to delve on that anymore. I've asked around about other immigration options available.
New Zealand is still on the list. The settlement funds, according to my source, tantamount to Php800,000 -- this is for a family of four. I'm not sure if the required fund is equivalent to Php200,000 per applicant.
In Canada for example, the settlement fund required by the immigration department is Can$10,000 thereabouts. And that is just for one applicant. I have no information on Australia's settlement funds. I'm still collecting data. My friend, G, told me that it is best to raise Php500,000 just to be sure.
Frankly, all these talk about settlement funds a.k.a show money dampens my hopes.

hi, mari! good luck! i'm on my way to Oz, too, but as an employee rather than a migrant. i just want to test the waters muna. i still have to file my visa because my employers are working on the sponsorship at their end.
i guess i don't have much of a stake since I am single and have no family to take with me. i can take my time.
again, best of luck, and i will stay tuned for further developments!
btw... what state are you looking at in Oz?
hi dr clairebear!
i'm looking at nsw. i'm seeking state-sponsorchip for the additional points.
entering oz as an employee is a better path rather going through what i'm currently doing. mine's the long rout to oz.
i have a friend who went there as an employee, too. she's give a temporary visa but the employer will fix her permanent resident visa.
i'm happy for you. balitaan mo ako sa oz :). it's a beautiful country to live in.
