Visa application

I am planning to apply for a Skilled Migrant-State Sponsored (Regional) Visa in Australia. I haven't lodged the application yet. There are other documents that need to be taken cared of. All of which are to be requested from Australia.

The State sponsored visa would merit another 10 points. This would bring me to the required 100 points for this type of visa.

For the past 4 months, I have accomplished and collated pertinent documents needed for the visa application. This visa, by the way, is a permanent visa. I have secured references from my previous employers, school transcript and diploma, custody affidavit for the kids, IELTS and authenticated birth certificates for all us. I was on a roll for the last quarter of 2007. Finished quite a lot on a short span of time. The VETASSESS certification would come in later. I need to finish the VETASSESS part first before I seek state-sponsorship from Sydney.

VETASSESS would take 3 weeks and state-sponsorship would take another 4 weeks. Visa processing for Philippine-based applicants is estimated at 2 years maximum. I have previous colleagues who could attest to the processing time. Australia's processing is far better than Canada's, which would take around 5 years or so.

At least I got the ball rolling. I'm still working on the other requirements.
