The call that woke me up

It's exactly two days since I turned down a possible opportunity to move up. The reason why I decided to skip it is because of a long-term plan I have in mind. Surely, there are no guarantees but I need to focus on the aforementioned plan first and foremost.

What irks me most is that these companies seem to touch base with me whenever I am in the middle of something that is equally as important.

After I hung up the phone, I felt guilty and defeated in a way. Have I just forfeited my chances to something more challenging, more rewarding than the status quo?

I brushed off all weariness and doubts right away. Focus is paramount.
