The U.S. financial crisis has spilled over to global markets. People in the financial services industry worry about losing their jobs. And likewise, vendors who service these financial services entities worry about losing their contracts. Some companies who service U.S. domiciled clients are at the edge of their seats.
What if you lose your job? What if your company loses clients and eventually, have to retrench employees, and one of the unfortunate ones happens to be you or me?
The thought scares me.

"Thrift comes too late when you find it at the bottom of your purse".

The current situation is indeed quite worrisome. The world hasn't seen anything like it or close to it since the oil shock of the early 70s. But that crisis is nothing compared to the global repercussions from the current one. The only thing one can do at this time (aside from working hard to keep one's job) is to save and cut back on spending. Austerity measures need to be taken. Shopping should be limited to just the necessities until the crisis is over. It's not fun but it's better to be safe than sorry.

such is the moral of the story for big spenders living ostentatious lifestyles.
Everybody needs to cut back on expenses nowadays.
