My boys' hair affair

I got a call from the school's guidance counselor. I thought one of them is sick or worst, got into a brawl with other kids. Good thing it's neither of the two. The reason why the guidance counselor called was to remind me of my boys' hair. Its length is beyond the prescribed hair length for boys. They badly need a haircut. Their names were already forwarded to the guidance office for monitoring.

In school, especially grade school and high school, the academe imposes strict compliance in terms of grooming. They boys' haircut is long overdue. I've been telling them that they'll get penalized in school because of the length of their hair. They were supposed to get a haircut before classes resumed but both of them continued to ignore me.

My eldest is sporting a bangs and my youngest son looks like The Beatles. Later, they'll definitely hear my never-ending speech again.

Want to get even with this strict rule and your kids, Mari? Like hitting two birds with one shot. Bring them both to the barbershop and instruct the barber to give them a half-inch haircut. : )

I'm assuming then that off to the barbershop they went early this afternoon?

ganyan din sa amin nung HS, strict sa buhok. dapat 'gupit binata'. hehehe.

All the kid go through this stage, Mari. Just get them to the barber and the problem is solved.

I used to have a principal that every student dreads to meet. For those whose hair was longer than what was prescribed, whether male or female, he would give them a haircut they would never forget. And they would visit their own barbers after that to cut their hair even shorter to "earse" the principal's haircut!!

blogusvox - both were silent the time the haircut was finished. seems to me that they couldn't part ways with the long hair.

panaderos - yes they did. L even begged to have the haircut on weekend. but that was it for me. no more extensions.

bwzone - you can say that! :D

rj - ayaw ngang gupit binata eh. ang gusto trim lang. ang ababta pa may nalalaman ng trim trim epek!

bayi - the new principal is more generous. she would give the students a warning first. the old one just would just cut it however she likes.

One has bangs and the other looks like the beatles? PArang pareho ata hitsura nun ah. Nung ako ang high school, uso ang long hair. Some would even wear it way lower than their shoulders. Buti na lang ngayon ako nakalbo. If it was back then, kawawa naman ako.

How was the pancit?

tito rolls - i stand corrected. yung isa may mahabang bangs at yung isa naman ay mukhang bunot ang hairdo.

meron pa din pancit dito. pero nagluto pa din akong iba. carbonara naman. :D
