Wouldn't it be nice to be on top of the world?
The Statue of Liberty will reopen to the public on Independence Day. It was off-limits to the public since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. However, going up to the crown would be on a lottery system. Only a group of 30 visitors will be allowed at any one time. This system will change nevertheless because according to the Secretary of Interior, the statue will undergo renovations to make access easier and safer and ultimately, to be able to accomodate more visitors in the future.
I was hoping that the effective date of the statue's reopening would be a lot earlier.

Would have been if they made that decision earlier.
Closed since 9/11? That long? I haven't been there in NY except JFK airport for layover to and from Holyland and Egypt last year. I would like to tour NY and New England one of these days.
